It’s FINALLY race week as we countdown to #SCSM2022!
Whether you’re running a 42.195km, 21.1km or a 5km run, you’ve done all the training and preparation work required and now is the time to chill, relax, and enjoy the whole race experience this weekend!
If you are intending to follow our #SCSM2022 PUMA Pacers, here are 5 important things you should take note!
8 Pace Groups for you to choose from
There will be a total of 8 pace groups, 4 for the Full Marathon and 4 for the Half Marathon runners to follow.
If you have a goal in mind to achieve, then make full use of our pacers during the race to get you to the finishing lines. The PUMA Pacers will be running on an even split strategy (that’s what we have been training for!) and will strive to keep their pace constant throughout the race.
Full Marathon Pacers | Half Marathon Pacers | Pace per km |
---|---|---|
4hrs 00min | 2hrs 00min | 05:41min/km |
4hrs 30min | 2hrs 15min | 06:24min/km |
5hrs 00min | 2hrs 30min | 07:07min/km |
5hrs 30min | 2hrs 45min | 07:49min/km |
Be at the correct start pen
Our PUMA Pacers will be serving runners at various starting pens based on their estimated finishing time. Take note of the starting pens where you can find our pacers.
In the event that you can’t find the pacers, it is always good to prepare a pace band on hand to help you keep pace on your own! There are a lot of paceband making websites that you can refer to! Here’s one from Runners World.
Spot our Pacer Balloons!
On race day, our PUMA Pacers will be equipped with coloured balloons to help you spot them. Simply remember the colour of the pace groups that you need to follow!
Know who are your pacers!
On 4 December 2022, a total of 48 pacers from all walks of life will be toeing the starting line to pace the running community for Singapore’s annual running event of the year. Your cheers and encouragement will keep them motivated and going! Check out the biography of our Class of 2022 and give them your biggest support!
Last but not least…
Stay safe and enjoy the race! Here are a few safety reminders to take note of when following our pacers!
- Keep a safe distance between yourself and the PUMA Pacers. We don’t want any mishaps to ruin everyone’s race!
- If you are intending to grab hydration at one of the aid stations, always run ahead so that you can catch up with the pacers.
- Our PUMA Pacers are doing their best to help runners keep pace during the race, so please respect and help each other out.
